The process for getting the Slate ↔ HubSpot integration set up for your institution
Once a Slate ↔ HubSpot integration subscription has been activated, the DD team will work with your team to set up and implement your instance to allow for the automatic syncing of contact data between HubSpot↔Slate.
PHASE 1: Strategic Planning & Organization [1-3 weeks]
- The DD Agency + client discuss the optimal data flow based on the client's specific needs.
Questions to be discussed will be:- What type(s) of data does the institution intend to bring into HubSpot and/or Slate?
- Who will be the Slate technician involved in implementation? Does he/she have permission to create queries, add web services, and create service accounts & custom source formats?
- What is the desired frequency of syncing from/to HubSpot and Slate? Syncing frequency is limited depending on the integration subscription level.
- The DD Agency + client collaborate to finalize the Slate ↔ HubSpot Integration Field & Value Mappings document with precise* information on naming for specific Slate & HubSpot fields and associated sub-values.
*The DD Agency team will need naming of all Slate properties that have associated specific Slate Values in order to ensure the precise mapping between HubSpot and Slate properties.
PHASE 2: Implementation [1-3 weeks]
- Setup of integration app account login.
- Connection of the HubSpot account.
- HubSpot users will need permission to connect 3rd party apps
- Connection of the Slate account.
- Slate users will need permission to create queries and set up those queries as a web service, create a service account user, and create custom source formats
- The creation & connection of Slate queries.
- The setup & configuration of field and value mappings in the Slate to HubSpot data flow if data will be flowing this way.
- The setup & configuration of field and value mappings in the HubSpot to Slate data flow if data will be flowing this way.
- Setup & test of sync schedule(s) in both directions as needed.
